At the time of the rule of the Emperor Hadrian, Roman Women were allowed to own land, run businesses, and inherit and pass on their wealth. She could also own slaves and if it suited her, give the slaves freedom.
This was not how it was in the early days of Ancient Rome where women had been expected just to look after the home and have children.
